Ubisoft launches $500,000 ‘Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’ treasure hunt

$500,000 USD AWAITS THE WINNER

Ubisoft is teaming up with Unsolved Hunts for a real-world treasure hunt tied to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The event, called Gold & Crystal – The Lost Treasure of Edward Kenway, will give players the chance to solve a series of puzzles for a $500,000 treasure hidden somewhere in the Caribbean.

Players can preorder access now through GoldandCrystal.com starting at $39.99. The hunt officially begins Nov. 9, 2026.

The treasure hunt includes a cryptic message in a bottle, a Caribbean map, letters, archives and 15 puzzles filled with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced references. Ubisoft says the puzzles can be solved remotely from anywhere in the world and do not require prior knowledge of the game.

The hunt is designed to last between two and five years.

The first player to uncover the chest’s location will travel to the Caribbean to dig it up. The prize includes a crystal skull inspired by the game and crafted by French lapidary artisan Hervé Obligi, along with a chest of gold coins minted with the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced logo.

The promotion is being created with Unsolved Hunts, a French startup known for large-scale treasure hunts, including Exkalibur, a €250,000 ($290,000) hunt inspired by Arthurian legend.

Assassin’s Creed first launched in 2007 and has sold more than 230 million games worldwide, according to Ubisoft.
